26 hours of classroom
instruction and 6 hours behind the wheel
· 8 hours in the vehicle training (4 hours
behind the wheel and 4 hours of observation
time)
· 4 hours - range/backing skills program (2 hours
behind the wheel and 2 hours as a passenger)

Note: To be eligible for Segment 1
Driver Education you
must be 14 years and 8 months old by the first
scheduled day of class.

Monthly Classes
Gives students the
option to take driver education Segment 1 at least 6
months prior to their 16th birthday. This allows the
student ample practice time and the opportunity to
obtain their license on their 16th birthday.
Scheduling Drive & Range Times
Behind the wheel drive times and range
driving will be scheduled with the
instructor on the first day of class.
These times are flexible and scheduled
at your convenience. Transportation to
and from the starting/ending point of
the drive or range will
not be provided.

Range / Backing Skills Program
E-Z Way's Range / Backing Skills Program allows
students to develop better parking and backing
skills as well as learn troubleshooting
techniques. Our cone course includes parallel,
perpendicular, diagonal parking and many more
essential skills. Day 2 lessons concentrate on
backing and turning around.
Range driving also gives students the
opportunity to become confident with cone
parking and helps prepare students for the
Michigan Department of State Basic Control
Skills Test (parking lot) and Road Test.
Range is scheduled on 2 consecutive days.
Students must sign up for the same 2-hour
time slot for each day. Range Driving is
included in the cost for Segment 1. |

All E-Z Way
training vehicles are maintained and serviced on
a monthly basis. E-Z Way vehicles are
equipped with airbags, rear-view mirrors for
instructor, and dual brakes for the student's
safety. |

6 hours classroom instruction as per state curriculum
To be eligible for
Segment 2, you must possess a Level 1 Learners
License for a minimum of 3 months, and have
driven at least 30 hours with 2 hours being at
night. |

instructors who specialize in private lessons
for adults and foreign students. |

Our vehicles are
equipped with air bags, anti-lock braking
systems, and dual brakes for your safety. |

All vehicles have
automatic transmission and include late models
i.e. Pontiac Grand Am, G6, Vibe, Toyota Scion
and Camry, Kia Spectrum, and Jeep Patriots. |

Our instructors
will pick you up and drop you off at home or
work. |

Lessons
can be scheduled for daytime, evenings, and
weekends. |
| ▪
|
Adults can decide how many lessons they would
like to schedule. Instructors will give feedback
on progress and work on the skills necessary for
the road test. |

Our instructors are patient, friendly, and
approved by the Michigan Department of State. |
| ▪
|
Our instructors
are required to have current medical forms and
background checks on file with the State of
Michigan. |

Lesson fee must be paid in advance before
lessons will be scheduled. |

Lessons will be
scheduled 3-5 days after payment is received and
paperwork is processed. |

A contract must be signed prior to
beginning lessons. |
TO SCHEDULE
LESSONS -
STEP 1 Adults
must obtain a Temporary Instruction Permit (TIP)
from the Secretary of State before taking
lessons. Please read the booklet What Every
Driver Must Know which may be obtained
free of charge from the Michigan Secretary of
State. This booklet includes useful information
for all Michigan motorists, whatever their
driving experience.
Information
on obtaining a TIP
STEP 2 Enroll
and pay for lessons. Adult students may
enroll by selecting from the two links below to
begin the enrollment process. Secure prepayment
of the lessons can be done online at this time
with a credit card or through a current PayPal
account. Students may also enroll for lessons by
calling the Jackson E-Z Way office at
517-788-6855, or Kalamazoo E-Z Way office at
1-800-354-0111. Prepayment for lessons also may
be made with a credit card, cash, or money order
by contacting the E-Z Way office.
STEP 3 Scheduling lessons. An
instructor will contact you to schedule a lesson
3-5 days after payment and paperwork are
processed.

Road Test
Assessment Drive:

Way Students
Students who are ready to take their road test can schedule an
assessment drive to evaluate their readiness and skill level.
Evaluations will be 1 hour in length and will cover all aspects of
the upcoming road test. Students may also enroll for assessments by
calling the Jackson E-Z Way office at 517-788-6855, or Kalamazoo E-Z
Way office at 1-800-354-0111. Prepayment for assessments also may be
made with a credit card, cash, or money order by contacting the E-Z
Way office.

SEGMENT 1 PAYMENT PLAN TERMS
Payment in full is expected either at
the Parent Meeting or on Day 1 of a
Segment 1 class, but for those who are
unable to make this one-time payment, a
payment plan is available. Please
contact the E-Z Way office, or speak
with a staff member at the Parent
Meeting, to set up a payment plan. Terms
of the plan are as follows:

minimum payment is expected to get the
student started in the class. Cash,
check, money order, or credit card
payments will be accepted. Credit card
payments may either be made at the
parent meeting or by calling the E-Z Way
Office. Credit cards will not be
accepted at the classroom locations. If
payments are missed or returned (NSF),
we reserve the right to withhold
services.
CLASS DAY 7
$100 payment
or balance of tuition is expected. Cash
or money order payments are recommended.
Credit card payments may be made by
calling the E-Z Way Office. If you
choose to pay by check, the students
final Certificate of Completion may
possibly be held until the check clears
our bank. Again, if payments are missed
or returned (NSF), we reserve the right
to withhold services.
CLASS DAY 13
Balance of tuition is expected. Cash or
money order payments are recommended.
Credit card payments may be made by
calling the E-Z Way Office. If you
choose to pay by check, the students
final Certificate of Completion may
possibly be held until the check clears
our bank. All payments must be completed
by the Program Completion date or the
Certificate of Completion may be voided.
If a check fails to clear our bank
(NSF), the Certificate of Completion may
be voided through the State of Michigan
and the student will be required to pay
for and attend future Segment 1 classes.
